Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VA/VE) is one of the most valuable optimization and design methods we apply. At VA/VE we analyze and evaluate an existing or new product, taking an integral look at functionality and costs. The result? A solution that performs optimally at the lowest possible cost.
We are one of the few Dutch agencies that apply VA/VE. The concept originated in the US shortly after World War II and is widely used in countries such as Germany and Asia, where it is a popular method of value analysis.
In the VA/VE process we investigate how we can optimize the relationship between the functionality and costs of a solution. By mapping out functions, with an associated cost analysis, we gain a better insight into a design.
In fact, VA/VE looks for the most cost-effective interpretation of a design. For example, by identifying and changing or eliminating features or functions that add little value and cost relatively much, resulting in a higher profit margin. Or by adding features or services for which a customer is willing to pay more.
At VA/VE we not only look at determining factors in your internal organization and processes, but at your entire chain and the impact that suppliers, for example, have on the costs and performance of your solution. If possible and desired, we can involve all relevant stakeholders in the VA/VE process.
